INDIA – ROMANIA | NEW INVESTMENT OPPORTUNITIES AT CURTICI-ARAD FREE ZONE

Curtici-Arad Free Zone is strengthening its openness towards the international business community and potential investors from outside the European Union.

Today, following an invitation from the Prefect of Arad County, Mr. Mihai Pașca, a working meeting was held at the Arad Prefecture with H.E. Dr. Manoj Kumar Mohapatra, Ambassador of India to Romania.

The meeting was attended by Mr. Tamás Károly Péró, Vice-President of Arad County Council, the executive management of R.A. Curtici-Arad Free Zone Administration, represented by General Director Mr. Romulus-Cristian Tănăsescu, as well as Mr. Aurel Ionescu, Vice-President of the Arad Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture, representing the local business community.

The main focus of the meeting was the investment potential offered by Curtici-Arad Free Zone to Indian companies and, more broadly, to investors from outside the European Union.

During the meeting, Curtici-Arad Free Zone, including its two platforms – Curtici and Airport – was presented, together with its infrastructure, facilities and opportunities for companies interested in manufacturing, logistics, distribution and international trade.

The discussions were practical and focused on identifying concrete opportunities for developing economic relations between the Indian business community and Curtici-Arad Free Zone. General Director Romulus-Cristian Tănăsescu addressed the technical questions raised by H.E. the Ambassador and presented the specific advantages of the existing infrastructure, as well as the development directions of the Free Zone.

An important outcome of the meeting was the prospect of connecting R.A. Curtici-Arad Free Zone Administration with the business community represented by The Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) – Romania & Moldova Chapter, with the aim of identifying companies and investment projects that can benefit from the Free Zone's strategic position in western Romania.

In the coming period, the necessary steps will be taken to facilitate a direct meeting between the management of Curtici-Arad Free Zone and potential investors who are members of ICC, with the objective of turning today's institutional dialogue into concrete business contacts and investment projects.

The strategic location of Curtici-Arad Free Zone, close to Arad International Airport and the major transport corridors of western Romania, provides strong opportunities for developing projects aimed at accessing the European market.

For R.A. Curtici-Arad Free Zone Administration, expanding connections with non-EU markets represents an important development direction and an opportunity to prospect new sources of investment, complementing the partnerships already established.
